When it comes to planning a wedding, choosing the right vendors can make all the difference in ensuring that your big day is everything you've dreamed of. For most people, until it comes to your wedding, you have never planned a wedding before, and we have found it can all be a little overwhelming and daunting. At The Real Florist, we wanted to ensure you feel supported so here few key things to consider when selecting your wedding vendors: Experience: Look for vendors who have a proven track record of success and plenty of experience in their field. Ask to see examples of their work, read reviews from past clients, and check out their portfolio to get a sense of their style and capabilities. Communication: Good communication is key when working with wedding vendors. Make sure that they are responsive to your inquiries, easy to get in touch with, and willing to listen to your ideas and concerns. Flexibility: Wedding plans can change quickly, and you'll want vendors who are able to adapt and be flexible if needed and within reason. It is important to note here, that you are likely not their only couple and you may need to be flexible to some extent.. Look for vendors who are willing to work with you to create a custom package or make changes to their services as needed. Professionalism: Your wedding day is one of the most important days of your life, and you'll want vendors who will treat it as such. Look for vendors who offer good value for their services and who are transparent about their pricing. Availability: Make sure the vendors you're considering are available on your wedding date. You might fall in love with a vendor's work, but if they're not available on your wedding day, they won't be able to help you bring your vision to life. Personality: You'll be spending a lot of time with your vendors on your wedding day, so it's important that you get along well with them. Choose vendors who have a friendly, positive attitude and who you feel comfortable communicating with. Referrals: Don't hesitate to ask for referrals from friends, family, or your wedding planner. They may have worked with vendors in the past that they can recommend based on their positive experiences. 9. Contracts: Make sure that each vendor you select provides a detailed contract outlining the services they'll be providing, the payment schedule, and any other important details. This will help ensure that both you and the vendor are on the same page and that there are no surprises on your wedding day. Backup Plans: While you hope that everything will go smoothly on your wedding day, it's always a good idea to have backup plans in case of unexpected issues. Ask your vendors what their backup plans are in case of equipment failure, illness, or other unforeseen circumstances. This will help put your mind at ease and ensure that your wedding day runs as smoothly as possible. By taking the time to meet with multiple wedding vendors, you can then carefully select your you would like to work with based on these key points. - Chosing Colour Pallets & Flowers
Choosing Colour Pallets & Flowers It is your wedding, it is your big day and you're (likely) only going to have one. Chose a colour pallet that suits you and your personality. Your flowers are a true reflection of you and we try to make sure that each couple is able to express themselves. It is important that you chose what you love and what represents your style, not the current fad that you may find on social media. With an increase in filters and edited photos, colours may not always be what they seem. A good florist should provide a realistic view of true form, shape and colour. The pastel/neon cross over with added elements of texture is a theme we are loving at the moment. A mix of fresh and dry flowers or minimalistic bouquets with over the top installations and collaborations of suppliers working together as one is a vibe we will always get behind! - Why do Wedding flowers cost what they do?
That is the age old question, why are weddings so expensive?! Is it a secret wedding industry tax? Wedding flowers can be a major expense for couples, but there are plenty of reasons why they can be so costly. There is ways to keep your budget down - see our blog post "how to budget wedding flowers" The simple answer is, no, there is no secret wedding tax. They cost what they are worth. The value is in the quality, the education, the work and the labour. Here is our top five reasons why wedding flowers cost as much as they do: Quality: Wedding flowers are usually of a higher quality than those used for everyday occasions. We go the extra mile to ensure that the flowers used for weddings are the freshest and most vibrant, and this usually translates to a higher price tag. Seasonality: Depending on the time of year, some flowers may be more expensive than others due to their seasonal availability. If you're looking for a specific type of flower, it may not be available at a particular time of year, and this could cause the price to be higher. We recommend not getting caught up on flower type, and instead focusing your attention on the colour and style you want your flowers to portray. Variety: Flower arrangements for weddings often require a variety of different types of flowers, which can add up to a hefty price tag. The more premium the flower, the more premium the price tag can be. Preparation: A lot of work goes into preparing the flowers for a wedding. We need to ensure that the flowers are in the best condition and that the arrangements are aesthetically pleasing. This takes time and money. The preperation for your wedding flowers starts up to 7 days before your wedding. From the ordering, the unpacking, the preperation and then the creating. Labor: Finally, the labor involved in creating wedding flower arrangements is usually more expensive than for everyday arrangements. We need to be paid for our time (as much as we LOVE what we do) and expertise, which is reflected in the cost of the flowers. By understanding why wedding flowers cost as much as they do, couples can plan and budget accordingly. Finding the right florist and selecting the right flowers can help to minimize costs while still achieving the desired look.

However, after the last two years of lockdowns and uncertainty people are looking to shop experiences over gifting this year and what a fabulous opportunity for your business to monetize what you do over what you sell!! It is the perfect opportunity to bring people in to experience what you have to offer, think VIP nights, in-store demonstrations or workshops (like our Christmas Wreath Workshop) that people can gift themselves or do as a group activity with family and friends.
